History of The River of Life Christian Fellowship
The amazing journey of our fellowship began on Dec. 29th, 2002 where we met at Roy & Leslie Baker's - Hollow Creek Ranch in their roping arena pavilion in St. Hedwig, Texas.
Founded in December of 2002, it has grown to become a place were people gather to minister to one another with the gifts that God has given to us. With a focus and determination to preach the Word without compromise, we are sticklers for the Word of God and its truth. Encouraging every member to be as the Bereans and to search the scriptures to see if what is being taught is correct:
Acts 17:11
These were more noble then those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily whether those things were so.
As we continued to meet and the Church began to grown it became evident that we were in need of some land to build a place of worship. We were able to buy 9 acres of Land for $63,000. Several of the men met together and with $30,000 in the building fund we stepped out in faith by laying the foundation to our current building, realizing that God will bless when we are faithful to obey Him.
We began building our present Church with the idea that it would eventually be our fellowship hall and as God blessed and enabled us, we would build our Sanctuary as the Lord allowed. We had our first Church service in April of 2005 ( We have been mightily blessed of the Lord!!) with a dedication service on September 4th of the same year.
Presently because of God's faithfulness to us we own no money on the building. To God be the Glory.
Currently we are praying about laying the foundation to a Christian Life Center as God leads. At The River of Life Christian Fellowship we are excited about what God is up to as we press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus (Phil 3:14).
